Is it a shrewd investment on the owners part or is it a status symbol? 1 in 8 cars have one so what are these people trying to portray to the outside world.
Probably the most popular type of number plate that people are buying one which spells out their name. The more unusual your name, the more chance of obtaining a cheap number plate.
Growing trends nowadays are car owners buying plates, which spell out words. Paul Daniels is probably the most famous person to do this when he brought MAG1C. Although this also refers to his job which brings me onto the next type of plate buying. People actually buying plates which spell out their job titles. For example an Advertising Executive might like to buy the plate C1 ADV. The options are never ending. A job plate shows the world how successful in you are in your career. Maybe business owners will start to look at buying plates for their business cars. You could consider what plates are available when naming your business or a more sensible option would be to buy sequential number plates. For example if you owned a music company you could buy the plates GIG 4731, GIG 4732. This is a great way of promoting your brand and also shows the world you pay attention to detail.
You can also purchase number plates, which can be rude, spell your name, your pets name or even spell your favourite football team. At the end of the day each owner have their own unique reason why they want a personalised number plate and each person is as unique to the plate they buy.
